WELCOME TO

UBUNTU CARES

Mission

To invoke transformational change in communities, organizations, systems, and institutions.

Ubuntu Cares is a nonprofit organization concerned with positive social change on the grassroots and reform levels.

We recognize not all good ideas have been put into practice and we take responsibility to reimagine this work and bring it to the people who seek solutions for their life’s problems. We meet the community where they are at and ask them to tell us their stories, what they want and need.

“We listen as they share with us what they need and want from us and to their visions for themselves, their family members and their futures. Their voices matter and are heard by us. All people desire to live with dignity, peace, security and safety. We take this call to action seriously and are committed to seeing long term results.”

“Ubuntu is the essence of being human. Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can’t exist as a human being in isolation. It speaks about our interconnectedness. You can’t be human all by yourself, and when you have this quality – Ubuntu – you are known for your generosity. We think of ourselves far too frequently as just individuals, separated from one another, whereas you are connected and what you do affects the whole world. When you do well, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity.”
